Homecoming

I have a lot of photos sitting patiently waiting for me to scrapbook. When I saw Simon Says Stamp H Challenge, I knew I should scrapbook some of my son and his darling girlfriend's homecoming photos.

Thanks for looking!

You Will Always Be My Little Boy

I made this for the Page Maps Colour Suite Challenge sponsored by Echo Park. I was lucky enough to win All About a Boy from Echo Park during NSD this year.  I used it along with Little Boy and Hello Summer to make the layout! The only things that are not Echo Park are the sun boundary which is from CTMH and the twine. I also embossed the denim looking paper with a new Spellbinders two in one embossing folder.Oh, yeah, and I added a little mist from Tattered Angels.  Mitch is holding a sweet gum. What is funny about it is that he said "Mom, look, a sour gum!"  I thought it was funny anyway!

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Echo Park NSD Challenge #4: 10X the Love

Here is Charlie on the day that we had a blizzard. It was his first "big" snow! He hated it and wanted in! I made this for Echo Park's NSD Challenge #4: 10X the Love using an older collection that I love! In case you are wondering "what are the 10 things?", they are the 10 snowflakes with a jewel in each at the top!  I hope you like it! I wanted to do so much more scrapbooking today, but I am happy I got a chance to create a few layouts! Maybe I'll get more time tomorrow!

Thanks for looking!

Campus Visit

Here's a layout I made using mostly Echo Park Times & Seasons. I added some vintage buttons, some arrow from CTMH, a vinyl clock that was in my stash and a pretty doily. I got the doily and Times & Seasons pack from Rebecca. Thanks, Rebecca!! She does amazing work also if you'd care to go visit her.  Anyway, I'm entering this layout into Simon Says Anything Goes--my favorite challenge hands down! :-)

Thanks for visiting!

Dream Big Sweet Boy

I made this from Diana's gorgeous sketch.  I'm also entering it at Simon Says Anything Goes...  I thought it was somewhat fitting that I worked on some baby pictures of our son who just turned 18!!!

Smiles are the Soul's Kisses

Write_click_feb12_12x12_exclusive_sketch

I have been wanting to do a layout with this photo ever since I got it back from the printers.  This morning, I saw this fantastic sketch over at Write Click Scrapbook. It is a Page Maps sketch from Becky Fleck.  I was also inspired by The Paper Variety's photo challenge and added the XO for Scrapfit's Workout #62 XOXO challenge.

We have been busy with new house activities as well as keeping the house clean in the hopes of a sale of our current house. We don't have to close until July so we have a little time, and we are just crossing our fingers that everything works out just right!  Our move kind of signifies a new start for our family. Our son will be entering college next year, and Steve and I will be transitioning into "empty nesters." Mitch is so busy now that sometimes we already feel like "empty nesters," but college kind of makes it official!!

Anyway, thanks for visiting!!! Please leave a comment if you have a chance, and I will try to get around to your blog soon!!!

Family -- at Disney in 2008

I cannot take credit for the design of this fun Family layout which I made for this week's The Paper Variety challenge! I started it at Archiver's (their design) and finished it this morning. I thought it would be fun to put those teeny, tiny photos that the photo print company sends along with your prints into the filmstrip!  I'm glad I had the motivation to finish this up!!! Now, I have more room on my "in progress" shelf!!!

Thanks for visiting! Hope you are having a great weekend!

Surprise! It's Stuart and Leo again!

I decided to do a little play on words for a Scrapfit challenge to use a school theme.  My addition problem: 1 Big Brother + 1 Little Brother = 2 time the FUN!  I used Sketchy Thursday's latest sketch for this! I used a bunch of Echo Park! I just love their paper lines! The buttons are all Basic Grey--all 10 of them! I added the buttons for Scrapbook & Cards Today's button challenge.  The chipboard is from a really cute Studio Calico set, and the twine is from The Twinery!  Apparently, I can't get enough scrapping of my nephews! They are the "babies" of the family, so I guess that is why it is so fun to me!

On other news, my son is FINALLY home from Nationals. Yay! He didn't win, but it was a great experience for him, and he got to visit his Texas grandparents while he was in the state.

Thanks for visiting! I appreciate every visit!

Stuart and Leo - Airplane Ride

I was excited to see The Paper Variety's challenge this week. As soon as I saw it, I ran downstairs to make this layout! I had these pictures and a couple of new (to me) Cricut cartridges I wanted to use.  The airplane is from Heritage (I ran it through my crimper and added some pop dots to add a little dimension).  The big Echo Park circle is from one called Elegant Edges. This is going to be my new go to Cricut cartridge I think. It made this layout come together pretty easily with no sketch! I pop dotted two of the small clouds. I had punched out the tiny clouds when I was at the Phoenix Scrapbook Cottage in anticipation of using them somewhere fun.   The large cloud is a Sizzix die and has been used as a mask several times.   I decided to let it have a permanent home here on this layout!  The background is BasicGrey, and I had been waiting for the right photos so that I could stop hoarding it! The stickers are SRM Stickers.

My Little Artist

I made this layout of my little artist (about 10 years ago)!!! When he was little, Mitchell loved making art projects!  I used Sketchy Thursday's latest challenge and make it messy for Stacy's challenge, and it fits Scrapfit's Workout #45 (see comment about toilet paper roll)!   I used several different mists as well as some messy Jenni Bowlin yellow paint. I put the yellow paint on an empty toilet paper roll and also used the paint on the "brush".   I totally used some really old stash along with some fun newer things on this layout!!! Can you tell???? The buttons are Jenni Bowlin. I love them. I've been hoarding them.

Thanks for visiting! Hope you are having a great day!

Memphis Zoo-March 2010

I had fun using Sketch Inspiration #220 to make this Simon Says ,,,,, Sparkle and Shine :-) layout with Echo Park.  I sprayed the paper with Tattered Angels and Studio Calico's Mr. Huey Mist. I also used some American Craft crochet flowers that just match the paper perfectly!!!! The small letters are Kaisercraft! I entered this at Sketches 4 All. That is wear I got the "strolling through the park" idea... :-)

Don't forget to check out the winner of my blog candy...

Thanks for visiting my blog today! Please leave a comment if you have a chance--it means a lot to me! :-)
Have a great day!

A Little Dirt Never Hurt

OMG! I couldn't believe it when I saw The Paper Variety's challenge this week to get messy (with sprays/masks etc.).  I had used a mask to make this layout, and I decided to flip it over onto the green DCWV  paper I used for this cute page of my son in 1998.  It turned out a little messy, but it is so perfect for these photos!!!!!   My son still gives me "the look" that he was giving me in the top picture, but it doesn't look as cute with a real beard!! :-)  Anyway, you can imagine my delight when I saw the challenge.  I also thought Sketchy Thursday's challenge this week would work well for this, too!  Echo Park's Little Boy paper just kind of set it off.  You can see such a Little Boy in the layout and photos!!! As you can tell, I was much more in my comfort zone with this than the one I posted of Steve and my wedding the other day!!!

I ran out of time to do anything else this week.  All I had to do with this one was glue down everything and photograph it!!! Otherwise, I wouldn't even be posting this today!

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great weekend!!!

Snow days

I made another Echo Park layout! This time it is for The Last April Sketch hosted by Sweet Peach Crop Shop! I really liked Liz Chidester's sketch this time!  I was tickled to make my own felt/denim/button/twine embellies for this!!!  I also added liquid glass to the red/letter part of the banner. As usual, my layout looks better in person!!! But, I hope you enjoy it! I thought it turned out pretty well... :-)

Thanks so much for looking at my blog! If you have time, please leave me a comment so I know you were here!
Hope you have a great weekend!!!

My Sweet Little, Silly Boy!

I was inspired by Mindy Pitcher's layout over at CK and am entering it into Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Buttons! challenge.  If you look closely at all of the Echo Park squares, you will see that I added buttons on every one!  I think you can tell that I used Echo Park's Little Boy collection! I also did a little recycling for this layout!  The blue circle under the polka-dot button on the right bottom square is from a pair of my husband's jeans!!  In fact, look at all these polka dots!  This definitely qualifies for The Paper Variety's challenge this week!   You can pull on the little red tab above the photo mat to see some hidden journaling about the photo!

By the way, this was in 1998 (which is noted in the journaling that you can't see)! My little boy is now 17...
