Mizzou Campus Tour--2011

As it turns out, Mitch only took one campus tour and applied to only Mizzou!  He has decided it would be good to get his bachelor's degree there and has been accepted into the Honors program.  After he finishes, he will apply to graduate school at either Northwestern or The University of Chicago for his graduate program. At that point, he may be able to get a fellowship!  Anyway, I am just now scrapbooking these photos from last year. I had two extra photos of the business school and Mizzou's AMAZING recreation center. So, I have placed them under some photos with a little pull for each.

I hope you have a great day and weekend!!!

Christmas at Grammie and Poppy's

I made this using the sketch at Frosted Designs: Sketch Along Tuesdays Sketch #31.  We spent Christmas at my mom and dad's house this year!  I wanted to capture some of the decorations in a layout.  The little snowman quilt was made by my sister, and the polar bear hanging on it was made by my mom.  There is nothing better than being home for Christmas!

Thanks for visiting!

Happy Halloween - 2011

I made this layout using this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch! The papers are My Mind's Eye. Mitch went trick-or-treating with some Speech and Debate friends. He said he gave his loot to one of the team member's younger brother! That was nice of him! I'm glad he didn't bring candy home! I would have probably eaten it!

Thanks for visiting!

And now, a Card (My third post of the day) I think it is a record!

UPDATE:  9/30/2011 This card was selected to be showcased on Create (Northridge Publishing) blog!

I made this Fall card using a prompt at Artful Delight to celebrate Leanne's birthday!  My tic-tac-toe winning combination was from top left to bottom right diagonally. I also used three Fiskars border punches on it!  The button is from Studio Calico! I thought it turned out really pretty for how simple it is! I'm also entering this for Really Reasonable Ribbon's autumn challenge--it has a little twine on it!!! :-)

Misc San Diego Zoo photos

I used this fun sketch from DCWV (Nana's Nursery Baby Boy AND Hittin' The Books stacks) and the citrus color challenge over at The Paper Variety to make this miscellaneous layout from the San Diego Zoo.  I used JBS paint to stamp my phrases.  Did you notice the poor little gummy bear who was impaled on a cactus???

Thanks for visiting!

Stuart and Leo - Easter Take 2

Has anyone else noticed that blogger has changed the way you add images? Anyway, here is another layout I did of the boys. It was for my friend Stacy's Mix It Up challenge where you were limited to 4 types of items: ribbon, glitter, stamps, and stickers.

I woke in the middle of the night with a splitting migraine. I feel ok this morning but wanted to feel great!!! Lots to do today! Wish me luck!

Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend to all of my USA friends and fantastic weekend for everyone else!

Thanks for stopping by! Comments make my day!

I guess I'm on a Stuart and Leo kick

I made this using a brilliant sketch over at The Sweet Peach Crop Shop.  The photo is so cute, and I thought the sketch went perfectly with it!  The three turtles in a row are a CTMH stamp. I fussy cut them.  Buttons and shaped background are BasicGrey. The other patterned papers are Scenic Route.  The stickers are SRM Stickers.  The green border is a Cricut shape and the border punch is a new one I got from Fiskars! I love it!

I've also entered this in the Moxie Fab World challenge to use borders in an innovative way. I don't know if this is innovative, but I love how the borders work in this layout!

Thanks for visiting!  If you have a moment, please leave a comment so I know you were here! I'll even come visit you!

Have a great day!

Stuart and Leo - Airplane Ride

I was excited to see The Paper Variety's challenge this week. As soon as I saw it, I ran downstairs to make this layout! I had these pictures and a couple of new (to me) Cricut cartridges I wanted to use.  The airplane is from Heritage (I ran it through my crimper and added some pop dots to add a little dimension).  The big Echo Park circle is from one called Elegant Edges. This is going to be my new go to Cricut cartridge I think. It made this layout come together pretty easily with no sketch! I pop dotted two of the small clouds. I had punched out the tiny clouds when I was at the Phoenix Scrapbook Cottage in anticipation of using them somewhere fun.   The large cloud is a Sizzix die and has been used as a mask several times.   I decided to let it have a permanent home here on this layout!  The background is BasicGrey, and I had been waiting for the right photos so that I could stop hoarding it! The stickers are SRM Stickers.

Maramec Spring Park -- Nephews Stuart and Leo

I made this layout of my nephews, Stuart and Leo, at Maramec Spring Park!  I used Sketchy Thursday's 6.16 sketch for this one!  It is funny how ideas about one object are all in the perspective! The boys and their mom and dad looked at this big knot in the tree as a great sitting spot! My husband looks at it and thinks what a beautiful burl bowl it would make!!! In any event, I thought that the photo was so cute that I HAD to scrap it!

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock:  Bazzill Basics
Distress Crackle Paint:  Weathered Wood
chipboard bird:  unknown
Plaid paper and branch paper:  unknown
Buttons:  Cosmo Cricket, Wanted
Circle paper:  Crate Paper
Stickers:  SRM Stickers
Mist:  Tattered Angels
Ink: CTMH
Other:
Cricut

I must be in love with this stamp!

I made this card with my favorite stamp from Hero Arts. It is for the CPS Card Sketch Challenge #114.  The little yellow American Crafts flowers are flocked.  I used a puffy marker for the yellow flower centers in the basket! The sticker is SRM Stickers!  PP is Pebbles!

Thanks for looking!

I've been trying to work on layouts, but this apparently was all I had in me today!

More Christmas 2009 - A Bittersweet Layout

This is a bittersweet layout for me because Alex (the boy in the bottom right) is no longer with us and Mitch and Haley (upper left) have broken up!! But, life goes on!

I used Sketchy Thursday's challenge sketch this week along with Crate Paper and SRM Stickers.  The cardstock is CTMH.

Thanks for visiting my blog!
Hope your day is full of happiness!

Card for The Paper Variety

This card is for The Paper Variety's Tic Tac Toe !! :) challenge this week.

I chose the right column. The stamped image is from Hero Arts; it's a card, and I used a scallop punch and a scallop border punch... I must not be in the crafting mojo still, but I wanted to participate, so...

Christmas 2009 - Ping Pong Table

I made this layout from 2009 Christmas based on Sketch #201 from Sketch Inspiration.  Steve and I decided at the last minute to buy a ping-pong table converter for our pool table.  I had no idea how much fun we would have with it. Mitch was so excited when he realized that there was a ping-pong table downstairs! We played so much through the year 2010.  I used American Crafts that I just got from my friend Stacy as well as some Doodlebug letters that she got me earlier. Yes, she supplies my scrapbooking habit quite well.  Did you see the cute journaling spots? They are from Shabby Chic Crafts.  You can't tell very well in the picture, but the little holly leaves on the Merry Christmas circle are partially cut out so that they are raised a little bit.  I thought that was a really cute touch...  I also Helmar zap-dotted the labels for a little dimension.  That ping-pong paddle and ball sticker is from my stash. I've had it for a long time!  I've also had the eyelets for a long time.  Recently, Sketches 4 All had a thread about using eyelets, so I was inspired to use 4 of them on this layout!

A Thank You Card and my 12 x 12 Paper Shelves

Here's a quick card I made using Old (American Crafts ribbon) and New (MME Whirly Bird and Basic Grey flower)for my friend Stacy's challenge at Sketches 4 All.

AND HERE are a couple of shots of the new paper shelf my husband made me as a Christmas gift.  He was sick all last week but toward the end he felt well enough to build this for me!!! Isn't he fantastic!! It has 81 slots I believe.  There are some larger ones toward the bottom in case I need them!!!! It looks wonky here because I didn't take the best photo, but wow!!!! What a present!!!!!! It would have cost quite a bit to buy the mdf shelves which aren't near as nice!!!!

A card

I made this card for my friend Stacy's challenge over at Sketches 4 All.

Here is a picture of me starting to get our Christmas decorations out! I haven't gotten very far, and I started over a week ago!

And, finally, here are some ornaments, bowls, pens, candles, and wine stoppers at my husband's booth at the show last weekend.

1968- Pink Dolly with a String

My sister and I got "pink dollies with a string" in 1968 for Christmas--or at least that's what we called them!  I actually can't remember the real name of the dolls. All I know is that We were so excited!!!! The pictures are old so they have a "faded" appearance.  But, you can tell we had so much fun with our dolls!  I made this along with the bookmark and card as part of the TRIFECTA for the Design Dollies challenges this week!  I used Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly on all 3 projects--the snowman and the pink snowflake papers went on all three! I used a lot of jewels on the layout to brighten up the photos! I used American Crafts fabric Thickers for the letters!
You were to use the following:
1.  Colors
2. Design Element:
Your challenge (should you choose to accept it) is to create a THEMED project... That means a minimum or two or three matching pieces... I did 3.
3. Sketch

2009 Christmas

I made this layout mostly using My Mind's Eye "The Merry Days of Christmas" that I recently got from my friend Stacy HW.  Her challenge this week was to use weaving on your layout! I used Sketchy Thursday's current sketch to complete the layout!
