4th of July at My Sister's House

Now, that I have it on here, I see that it is  a little blurry. I started it for the embossing challenge but didn't finish it until today--so the white lines are sanded embossed lines i created with my Scor-Pal.  I am entering this in Simon Says Anything Goes....

P.S. This is my second entry.

Mitch in Santa Hat--2009

I made this for Artful Delight's April Challenge!  I thought the sketch was so much fun! I used My Mind's Eye. All of the paper is glittery! The only other thing I added was twine from The Twinery and rub-ons which I believe are Doodlebug...  You ought to give this sketch a go!  Not only are LeeAnne's kits awesome, she is very generous, too! Her inspiration page is so cute!

My Mom at Thanksgiving 2010

I made this layout of my mom  in her kitchen at Thanksgiving in 2010 for Scrapfit's latest challenge.  I was so surprised that my mom actually let me take a picture of her.  My dad built the kitchen by hand.  It's hard to tell, but their counter tops look like little cookies to me.  The Lily Bee Design paper couldn't go better with them if they tried! :-   For Scrapfit's challenge, we were to use strips on our layout from 2 different manufacturers--mine are from Lily Bee Design and CTMH.  I also included a row of embellies as instructed.   I used a doily, rhinestones, pearls and a flower for Michelle's challenge at Sketches 4 All.

By the way, most of the layout came together as a result of winning a kit from Scrapcetera.  I was surprised when Sarah closed her kit club.  She offered her very well designed kits at such a reasonable price.  I believe she is still selling her remaining kits on Etsy. Here is the link if you'd like to check it out! http://www.scrapcetera.com/

Walkin' on Sunshine

First time, I've combined challenges all on one site!!!  I made this for the TRIFECTA at Design Dollies! It meets the requirements for all 3 challenges this week:color:  yellow, white and kraft; element:  song from a TV show (I chose Glee's Halo/Walkin' on Sunshine) and the sketch;

For Scrapfit, I actually sprayed a yellow mist on the Kraft cardstock, but you can't see it in the picture! I also got some scallops wet, stamped a little flourish on them, made them into the yellow flower you see and then misted it with the yellow shimmery mist, too!

1999 Steve's first trip to the Ocean - Take 2

7/25/2010 I changed it a little:
AFTER:

BEFORE:

This is for Practical Scrappers monthly challenge for July. The challenge was to use something real from the beach. I chose to add a few shells (two around the beautiful flower found in my Courage kit) to serve kind of as leaves and three more on the other side between the two pictures! I'm surprised I hadn't scrapped these pictures before, but I think it is because this was "real" film and the exposure wasn't very good. Anyway, I was glad I had them for the challenge.  The patterned paper is old--2007 Flair Designs (I won it earlier this year in a Scrapfit blog hop--pretty close to when I first opened my blog.) I also found a new site called The Latte Lounge-and this fit the challenge--so I shared it there also!

Grand Rapids -- Meijer Gardens with Chihuly - Lilies etc.

I was pretty excited at how this turned out! I love the Autumn Leaves cutout (green, left rectangle). I had the flower--had been hoarding it--believe it was Martha Stewart. And, doesn't the embossed Core'dinations paper go well with this theme also--you might have to click on the picture to make it larger? The Flair worked out pretty well. The base was Crate Paper-Mia. Oh, and the rub-on for the year 2010 was American Crafts. Pretty simple, but I really like it! It's so much prettier in real life--the textures are important and you just can't see it here!

I created this for Pages in Time Thursday Sketch Week July 15.
