Mizzou Campus Tour--2011

As it turns out, Mitch only took one campus tour and applied to only Mizzou!  He has decided it would be good to get his bachelor's degree there and has been accepted into the Honors program.  After he finishes, he will apply to graduate school at either Northwestern or The University of Chicago for his graduate program. At that point, he may be able to get a fellowship!  Anyway, I am just now scrapbooking these photos from last year. I had two extra photos of the business school and Mizzou's AMAZING recreation center. So, I have placed them under some photos with a little pull for each.

I hope you have a great day and weekend!!!

San Diego Zoo-Take 3 - Giraffes

I made this layout of the giraffes at the San Diego Zoo for Scrapfit's Workout #49!  I used some older CTMH giraffe paper which I put in the Cricut to make a fun background! This qualifies it for a little challenge I found on Scrapper Creations' blog.  I also did a little embossing with my paper cutter. I made the banner out of some  tags I stamped and some hemp! Simple-but picture focused--which is how I roll!

Thanks for visiting! I hope you'll leave a comment so I know that you were here! If I haven't already visited you in the last day or so, I'll stop by your blog and say HI to you, too!

Have a great day!

Memphis

I made this for Sketch Inspiration's weekly challenge #217!  The shimmery, gray background paper has been sanded and is DCWV.  The other paper came from a tablet--I believe it is Autumn Leaves.  The jeweled guitar is Prima!

Meet Frenchie - Our Blizzard Snow(wo)man

I have been waiting for some great pictures to use this beautiful Bo Bunny paper!!!  The blizzard we had last week gave me quite a few photos!  This is Frenchie, our Blizzard snow(wo)man!  She has sedum flowers for her hair!!!  There is a story behind the leather mittens in the bottom left.  The boys got new wallets for Christmas--so I saved the old ones to make mitten die cuts with my Sizzix.  I embossed the blue mittens so they would feel special, too!  I also embossed the mats under the photos!  The little white flowers sparkle in real life!  I am going to enter this into Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything but a card challenge.

Thanks for visiting my blog! If you have time, please leave me a comment so I know that you visited! Have a great day!

My Mom and Me in 1965

I made this for Natalie's (one of the DT member) challenges during Scrapbook Challenge's blog hop! You were to use fabric!  I  fussy cut some Dear Lizzy, used a hand-made crochet flower from Jessica; a CTMH metal piece, some stickers & Flair, and I sanded some words in!  It's interesting to go back and look at all of these older pictures! My mom finally let me have a couple of me when I was little!

1999 Steve's first trip to the Ocean

I created this layout using Splash Dance from Imaginisce.  I won it on their blog! I was so excited to get it that I whipped out a layout as soon as I opened the box.  It helped that I had a color scheme in mind from Frosted Designs (orange, yellow, turquoise, and green) and a sketch in hand from Pages in Time.

Memphis - She loved; They loved

We went to Memphis for a couple of days over Spring Break this year.  My favorite part of the trip was the zoo where we got to see two adorable panda bears!  We are so spoiled with having the free St. Louis zoo so close to us that most zoos have a tough act to follow. But, the Memphis zoo had a lot to offer so we had a really nice time there!  We all really enjoyed the new Teton Trek which had grizzly bears and wolves.  The only other thing we really did was hang out downtown for a little bit.  We all enjoyed the music on Beale Street.

This layout is a bit unusual for me as I have basically made two layouts in one.  The SHE (loved) on the left side is very feminine with flowers and butterflies in soft colors.   The THEY (loved) on the right side is very masculine with a grunge feel.
