Life is Better When YOU are Laughing--My Darling Niece Julie!

I am entering it into Simon Says Stamp blog anything-goes Wednesday challenge--my fourth for the challenge (I usually can't get it together enough for that many entries--maybe it will finally be my lucky week). A few years ago while we were celebrating Thanksgiving with my family, several of us decided to play disc golf. It was fun seeing Julie get the giggles as she played for the first time (I think). I thought all of her fun poses and faces would make a great layout! I am totally into the latest craze of Polaroid frames! And, I was lucky enough to win the Jillibean collection a while back. The flowers are CTMH; the button, October Afternoon; the twine,The Twinery; the jewels, Pebbles. The green frame on the left was made with an American Crafts die that I also won!!!

Thanks for looking!

Picture Perfect - Disc Golf

I love it when Steve and Mitch play together!  Here, I've captured each of them getting ready to throw the disc golf toward the target! They are both so intense!!!!!  I created this using this fun sketch from Page Maps and incorporated borders per the challenge instructions. I added a camera from Amy Tan's collection to qualify for Simon Says Stamp Says Take a Picture Challenge.  I used a bunch of Jillibean Soup and American Crafts for this page but also added a stamped border of some great stamps from Teresa Collins Designs.

I love all of the color in the page and think the arrows are fun for the movement of the game!

Thanks for looking!!!

I hope you are having a great Memorial Day weekend!

Welcome Home New Baby

THE STORY:  the boys (my husband and son) had been begging for a dog ever since we moved into our new house.  The idea was that he wouldn't have to be left alone for long hours since we'd be so much closer to my husband's work, and he works from home often. Well, I kept saying "NO!" since I'm allergic. Steve (my husband) had been stalking Craig's list and the Humane Society and saw our Charlie's photo the second it was posted.  Well, I took one look at this little puppy's photo, and he was in our car one-half hour later--and he lived in the next town over....!!!!  Even though I do have the allergy problem, it is kinda worth it! He's such a sweetie (to us)!  Charlie has worked his way into all of our hearts, and we can't imagine life without him now!  I made it for the PageMaps challenge. Here's the sketch!

Meeting Charlie!

Mitchell is meeting Charlie for the first time the day after we brought him home.  Charlie was so tiny then, weighing in at a little over 3 pounds!  He just had his 12 week check up Friday (1/25), and he weighs 9 pounds 3 ounces.  He's a whopper now!  He looks like a gangly teenager with long legs--he also has floppy ears that are almost too big for his cute face. I need to get a photo of him before he changes again!!!

Anyway, I made this for PageMaps Fancy Pants Love Note sketch contest.  I felt bad but the only paper I had on hand of Fancy Pants did not go with these photos or the sketch.  But, I did at least use their letter stickers!  The rest is Jillibean Soup!  The 2012 tag is American Crafts. And, the cute little pup stamp is from October Afternoon.  I thought this came together well and was very happy to get a chance to scrap with a "new baby" in the house. He still requires almost constant attention to avoid little peepee messes in the house and avoid our carpet being devoured!!!!

Our Realtor had an open house at our old house today, so we are crossing our fingers that someone there or someone else will make an offer soon!

Hope you are having a great weekend. I'm spending most of the weekend working--which is a good thing right now!

Easter 1999

Sketch1_stars_042709

Even though we are extremely busy right now with trying to sell our house and ending up Mitchell's senior year, I felt an urge to participate in some of the challenges for NSD. I made this layout using all Jillibean Soup patterned paper--no cardstock.  I used Jillibean's sketch and am entering it in their challenge as well as Frosted Designs challenge to use only patterned paper....

Mitch was almost five years old in these photos. It is hard to believe he will be graduating from high school in two weeks!

Thanks for looking.

Memphis Zoo

I still have more photos from our Memphis Zoo trip over 2010 Spring Break!  I made this using Sketch Inspiration's sketch #206 for the one-hour tulle challenge at Creating Keepsakes! I cut out the tulle using a Sizzix die and layered it with flowers and brads. I love how the flowers turned out!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I hope you'll leave a comment! Have a great day!

Nature Boy

My Scrapbook Nook is having a Jillibean Soup contest. This layout is almost entirely Jillibean Soup! This was my little guy many years ago. He always loved to explore every bit of wherever we would travel. He loved looking for bugs and other stuff! I can't believe he is 16 now. It just seems like yesterday when these pictures were taken!

Six Flags in 2007

I created this using Sketches in Thyme challenge 9. I flipped the sketch and only used one photo! I entered it at Practical Scrappers anniversary celebration and will also enter it Week 2- What Shape are you in Challenge???? to use circles at the  The Paper Trail(this challenge is just for fun! I don't even want to think about how many circles are on this page! From the holes in the border strip, to the dots on flower-shaped diecut, to the buttons, to the dots on the Jillibean journaling block there are quite a few!

1995 Playing with Mom's Easter Decorations

I made this for ScrapFit challenge 18!  The instructions were to use Jillibean Soup. Check.  You were not to have a title. Check.  This was fun!

All of the patterned paper is Jillibean Soup.
Cardstock was DCWV.
Jewel in sun is Kaisercraft.
Grommets are We R Memory Keepers.

I thought I had the two pages together on one "line" but when I posted it, they separated. One of these days, I will figure out how to take a GOOD picture of a 2 pager, but until then...

Altered Egg

I made this for a ScrapFit challenge!  I used Jillibean Soup patterned paper (three different sheets but six patterns).  I had to go to St. Louis--two hours away from my house--to Archivers to get it, but it was worth it!!! :-) I really like the quality and design of Jillibean Soup's papers!
I hope you enjoy my little project!
