Authentique Classique Beauty

I'm excited to be making this album out of the beautiful  (really) new collection from Authentique called Classique Beauty. I thought it captured the photos of my beautiful mother (and father) perfectly!!! I'm going to be using it to teach a class at my awesome local scrapbook store!  I am entering it into Simon Says sTamp B challenge  (Beauty) also!

It is very cool that Authentique is also having a contest so we can win some of their goodness--made in the U.S.A. goodies!!!

Thanks for looking!

Prom

I had a lot of fun making this layout. I wanted to add a little elegance and a lot of playfulness which describes Mitch and his girlfriend Meredith so much.  I embossed a lovely, light blue and white paper with a gorgeous embossing folder and then rubbed a darker ink all over it to bring out the embossing. It is meant to go with the flowers in the gorgeous dress. I also used the yellow background for that purpose. I added the black borders to go with Mitch's suit!! I am entering this in Simon Says Anything Goes challenge--love those!!!!! I am also entering it in my friend Stacy's tic tac toe challenge: mist, alphas and buttons....

Thanks for visiting!

St. Louis Cardinals - 2012

I am entering it into Simon Says Stamp blog anything-goes Wednesday challenge, and I am also entering it my friend Stacy's challenge to use black! I found the black sheet of paper on my table and the arrow on the floor and decided to go back and FINALLY scrapbook our trip to see the St. Louis Cardinals around Steve's birthday in 2012! So, thanks for the challenge Stacy. You helped me cleanup my scrap room a bit!

The Graduate - Fancy Pants Swagger Style

I made this for Page Maps anniversary boy-girl (I chose boy) challenge and Simon Says Stamp anything goes!!  I used Fancy Pants' fabulous Swagger collection.  The colors and papers just fit Mitch's graduation/school colors!  I embossed the orangy-red colored paper under the photos.  I fussy cut the big fleur de lis out of a sheet of the collection and turned it on its side.  The journaling reads "Man Oh Man.  It seems like only yesterday when I dropped you off for your first day of kindergarten!"  Ain't it the truth!  He has now very successfully completed his first year of college. We were very, very proud of his first year GPA and his dedication to studies as well as his ability to meet new people and still have a lot of fun!!

Thanks for looking!

How Fast You Grow Charlie!

This is our darling little Charlie.  The pocket in the middle of the 2 photos talks about how fast he grew in about a month.  We got him right before Christmas at just under 4 pounds and is now over 17 pounds!! Wow!  I made the layout using a sketch from PageMaps!  I used mostly Teresa Collins "On the Edge" with the exception of some Tattered Angels mist and the little zig zag border which came from Echo Park and the top part of the pocket which was a little bit of DCWV embossed with a cool chevron pattern which is the opposite of the double folder I got recently with my gift certificate from my cool friend Stacy! (I'm also sharing this layout with one of her challenges at Sketches 4 All/You...)

Thanks for looking!  I hope you are having a great Mother's Day!

Mitch got up very early yesterday to make me a wonderful breakfast since he is going to a Yankees game in Kansas City today. I couldn't say no to that since he rarely gets this kind of opportunity!

Graduation from High School

I was pretty happy with how this turned out. The only thing that would make it better is if these two were still dating. But, you know, if it is meant to be, they will meet again when they are older. I wish only the best for both of them.  I am entering this into Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes. It is my 2nd entry.  I used Close to My Heart papers and borders, and the Harriet Tubman quote is also from there.  The date stamp is Amy Tangerine (American Crafts) and the embellishments come from all over the place:  American Crafts, Pink Paislee, Basic Grey, Crate Paper, October Afternoon.  I love it when you can coordinate different collections into one awesome layout! It is one of my favorites that I've done in a long time.

We have renters in the house we left. They are the original family who wanted to purchase the house. They love it so much--sounds like as much as we loved it! We met them the day they moved in, and they seemed really nice. Their intent is to lease for a few months until they can get their credit score upped a little bit after having paid off some medical bills. It sounds like a risk, but it  feels like this is the right thing. Please continue to pray for us and/or send us some positive vibes.

Second Post Today - Disc Golf (march 2012)

I was lucky enough to win some Fancy Pants this year. I guess I was waiting to do these photos until the right paper came along. Although I didn't receive any 12 x 12 sheets, I received the 6 x 6 and a whole bunch of embellishments from my favorite collection:  Park Bench! I cut up several pieces of the 6 x 6 tablet to make my "stripes under the photos. It is actually a two-page spread and the strips carry over to the 2nd page.  I had a lot of fun working with the collection and feel very fortunate to have won it!!! I'm entering this into Simon Says Stamp -- add an arrow (the stickers in the collection had the perfect arrow).  I also did some embossing in the top corner by folding my paper to fit into my big shot. It is hard to tell here but it does add some amazing dimension and texture to the page.

See how Charlie is reacting to the snow now in my first post today: http://kmassman-scrapbooks-cards.blogspot.com/2013/02/more-snow-and-now-he-loves-it.html

Charlie - All Boy

See how the bracketed page is lopsided on this page? That is exactly what this little pup Charlie has done to our lives--made it very lopsided! Isn't he adorable though?  I made this page for Simon Says Stamp challenge to use a splash of color. I chose yellow mainly because of Charlie's pacifier chew toy.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you are having a great day!

P.S. Please pray for us that our old house sells soon or at least has a contract by the middle of February. We've been given a lot of blessings that have made us do ok having two house payments, but we got news that at the end of February our home insurance will be WAY more expensive! Thanks and we appreciate any prayers you could offer!

Campus Visit

Here's a layout I made using mostly Echo Park Times & Seasons. I added some vintage buttons, some arrow from CTMH, a vinyl clock that was in my stash and a pretty doily. I got the doily and Times & Seasons pack from Rebecca. Thanks, Rebecca!! She does amazing work also if you'd care to go visit her.  Anyway, I'm entering this layout into Simon Says Anything Goes--my favorite challenge hands down! :-)

Thanks for visiting!
