Twins at the Zoo

I love going to the zoo.  For some reason, my husband and I, along with my twin sister and her husband, were in St. Louis for a little bit. I talked them all into going to the zoo for a few minutes.  Well, everyone else in St. Louis had the same idea. We couldn't find a parking space ANYwhere. Anyway, we spent some time at the museum nearby and then decided to at least head down to see a couple of exhibits in the zoo. I got to see two of my favorite animals: the polar bear and the red panda.

I haven't entered many challenges lately but saw this one at Grand Diva's Creative Corner aka Scrappy Place.  I felt like using the colors and the outdoor theme of the challenge as well as the fabulous layout sketch for the bonus Rochelle's April Rewind Sketch Challenge.

I hope it's sunny where you live and that you are happy!

You are One Crazy Cat

So, this morning, I decided that coloring with colored pencils was in my destiny for the day.  I fell in love with the CTMH August Stamp of the Month which you can buy for $17.95 OR for only $5 with a qualified $50 purchase.  I added the pretty flower using the Flower Market Cricut Cartridge.  I wanted to keep the focus on the kitty and the flower, so I just embossed the white circle with a little Confetti Embossing Folder. I am adding this to the Simon Says Stamp Fabulous Florals challenge!

I made this card for my Aunt Sandra. I like the old-fashioned feel for her, and I think she will like it, too! I put some microbeads in the center of the flower.   I am entering this in the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge this week.

Thanks for visiting!

Authentique Classique Beauty

I'm excited to be making this album out of the beautiful  (really) new collection from Authentique called Classique Beauty. I thought it captured the photos of my beautiful mother (and father) perfectly!!! I'm going to be using it to teach a class at my awesome local scrapbook store!  I am entering it into Simon Says sTamp B challenge  (Beauty) also!

It is very cool that Authentique is also having a contest so we can win some of their goodness--made in the U.S.A. goodies!!!

Prom

I had a lot of fun making this layout. I wanted to add a little elegance and a lot of playfulness which describes Mitch and his girlfriend Meredith so much.  I embossed a lovely, light blue and white paper with a gorgeous embossing folder and then rubbed a darker ink all over it to bring out the embossing. It is meant to go with the flowers in the gorgeous dress. I also used the yellow background for that purpose. I added the black borders to go with Mitch's suit!! I am entering this in Simon Says Anything Goes challenge--love those!!!!! I am also entering it in my friend Stacy's tic tac toe challenge: mist, alphas and buttons....

Thanks for visiting!

Canvas with some fun new things I got for my birthday

So, I got some fun new Hazel & Ruby letter stencils (Dear Ruby) from my friend Lural for my birthday!!! So, when I saw the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Time to Grow/Botanical, I decided to try out modeling paste with a flower stencil along with the letters. I originally painted it with a light green chalk paint, and I felt it was hard to see the letters, so I went over the canvas with some gorgeous gelatos from Faber Castell. I also paperpieced/colored a cool Unity girl that I bought recently.  I'm sure I will do a better job next time, but I still kind of like the canvas!

Hope you are having a great Memorial Day weekend! Hug a veteran!! Here's a big virtual one going out to my little brother who spent 20 years in the Navy!!!!
