I made this layout of my son's girlfriend. She was supposed to be a "snake." Such a pretty snake, indeed! The photos were taken by a professional during a "Vogue" style session. I had fun making my own background in the upper right using a mask and some paints, and Tim Holtz distress stains in a blue and white color (don't have the bottles right here). I love how this turned out! I made it for Simon Says Make Your Own Background!!!
Thanks for looking. Let me know you stopped by, and I'll come visit you!!!
Now, that I have it on here, I see that it is a little blurry. I started it for the embossing challenge but didn't finish it until today--so the white lines are sanded embossed lines i created with my Scor-Pal. I am entering this in Simon Says Anything Goes.... P.S. This is my second entry.
Look at these sweet FACES! You can tell that love, love, love is in the air! I love this photo of my son and his sweet girlfriend! I'm entering this into Simon Says Stamp Challenge: About a Face and to my friend Stacy's challenge!
I had a lot of fun making this layout. I wanted to add a little elegance and a lot of playfulness which describes Mitch and his girlfriend Meredith so much. I embossed a lovely, light blue and white paper with a gorgeous embossing folder and then rubbed a darker ink all over it to bring out the embossing. It is meant to go with the flowers in the gorgeous dress. I also used the yellow background for that purpose. I added the black borders to go with Mitch's suit!! I am entering this in Simon Says Anything Goes challenge--love those!!!!! I am also entering it in my friend Stacy's tic tac toe challenge: mist, alphas and buttons....
So, I got some fun new Hazel & Ruby letter stencils (Dear Ruby) from my friend Lural for my birthday!!! So, when I saw the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Time to Grow/Botanical, I decided to try out modeling paste with a flower stencil along with the letters. I originally painted it with a light green chalk paint, and I felt it was hard to see the letters, so I went over the canvas with some gorgeous gelatos from Faber Castell. I also paperpieced/colored a cool Unity girl that I bought recently. I'm sure I will do a better job next time, but I still kind of like the canvas!
Hope you are having a great Memorial Day weekend! Hug a veteran!! Here's a big virtual one going out to my little brother who spent 20 years in the Navy!!!!
I can't believe Mitchell turned 20 this April... Anyway, I made this for the Simon Says Die Crazy challenge. And, I even dug out my old Sizzix letters/numbers for this one. The hearts and love are from American Crafts! And the matting is from a set of Spellbinders.
I am entering it into Simon Says Stamp blog anything-goesWednesday challenge--my fourth for the challenge (I usually can't get it together enough for that many entries--maybe it will finally be my lucky week). A few years ago while we were celebrating Thanksgiving with my family, several of us decided to play disc golf. It was fun seeing Julie get the giggles as she played for the first time (I think). I thought all of her fun poses and faces would make a great layout! I am totally into the latest craze of Polaroid frames! And, I was lucky enough to win the Jillibean collection a while back. The flowers are CTMH; the button, October Afternoon; the twine,The Twinery; the jewels, Pebbles. The green frame on the left was made with an American Crafts die that I also won!!!
I made this for my friend Stacy's challenge! I just bought the Simple Stories collection and thought it went perfectly with my photos!!! Our little Charlie was definitely still a pup in these photos. In the third one, he was doing the "swim" before he got distracted by some activity in the park!!! I added some American Crafts velum (transparent) hearts, so I'm also adding this to Simon Says Transparent challenge!!!
I created this cute little treat bag out of a regular, business envelope, a stamp, some inks and a crimper! Easy peasy, and cute. I'm showing the treat bag closed and opened. It has a bone for our puppy Charlie in it!!! Ha. Everyone around here gets a Valentine treat.
I have been scrapbooking a lot lately. But, I haven't been sharing them here. I am not really sure why--maybe because I'm not entering challenges; maybe because I don't know if anyone is looking, maybe because I'm focusing on putting a lot of photos on my layouts so there isn't much interesting going on; maybe because I clearly don't have my camera setup to take a decent photo. I don't know.
Today, I decided to make some layouts of some older photos (from 2011). My motivation probably had something to do with all of the snow we have been getting here in the Midwest lately!!! I don't love getting out in the snow, but the day these photos were taken, we all decided to play in the snow--EVEN ME!!! I was surprised (as you can see by the photos) that they talked me into sledding down that HUGE hill at our old house!!!
I decided to make this layout for my friend Stacy's challenge! She's the best. You should go check out her challenge.
Thanks for looking. If any of you are actually still out there, pop in and say hi!! I'll try to get around to you soon!!!!
