My Son is in his Senior Year

I made this for the Frosted Designs' Fabulous Friday Challenge - Something New! Everything with the exception of the brad on the Congrats tag is the new Chap line from American Crafts! I love it!

Family- Word of the Year

I made this layout for Scrapfit's Workout #57 Word of the Year.  I chose "Family" and fortunately this also qualifies for  Simon Says Stamp's anything goes challenge! I love those. I used some new things my hubby got me for Christmas--the spellbinders label die, the Tim Holtz leaves dies and the Tim Holtz wood-grain embossing folder!

Thanks for visiting! I'm going to be doing a lot more scrapbooking soon. I think I have my mojo back!!!!

Crafter's Companion Sparkle Challenge

This is one my sister made:

Shabby Apple Dress

This is my beautiful niece with a GORGEOUS dress from Shabby Apple that I was so excited to win on We Were Damsel's blog for her!  My niece is so pretty-and this was after she had worked all day at a busy place!  It is even prettier in person! It is so nicely made, too!  It looks a little shimmery in person and is lined with a nice silky feeling fabric! I never wanted to win something so badly as this dress for my niece.  It came at the perfect time with all of the holiday festivities! This is really a classy dress at a very great price! I highly recommend the dress for quality and looks!

Thanks for visiting! I'll be back later with a layout!!!!

NOTICE:  I won the dress but was not asked to do a review. The opinions are my own. I would never recommend something that I would not love myself!!!!

The Massman Side of the Family

We had family photos taken this year on the Massman side of the family! This is the first scrapping I've done in a long time. So, excuse the wonky photo!  It is straight in real life!  I made it for my friend Stacy's challenge.  If you have never done one of Stacy's challenges, you should give it a try.  The odds are good that you would win one of her wonderful prizes!  I made another layout that I will post later.

Massman Grandkids

Do you Ever Picture Something in Your Mind? And, then you make the layout, and it is NOTHING like you imagined yet you have no idea how to get it there. Well, considering I haven't really scrapped at all this month, I'm just going to run with it! I used Sketchy Thursday's sketch for this week as well as a challenge at Scrapfit to use small photos! At least I did those two things anyway!

Hope you are having a wonderful week and aren't stressing over the holidays!

Book Page Ornament

Here's a cute ornament made from book pages (when the book has fallen apart beyond repair)! I made it at the library! I thought it turned out cute! I made it for The Paper Variety's Anything Goes challenge as well as the Tuesday Trigger from Moxie Fab World--I used the colors in the prompt as well as the feathery look the book circles made for it!!!

I haven't been crafting much lately-mainly making hand-made ornaments! I'd love to do some scrapbooking soon, but I spend so much time doing them that I just haven't had the chance! Too busy I guess! :-)

Well, thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Quick, Cute Christmas ornaments

I made these little ornaments for The Paper Variety's challenge to show them your ornaments and for my friend Stacy's challenge! The tree has some Ranger distress ink on it, but I thought they looked cute plain, too!

Shabby Bicycle

Here is a shabby bicycle card that I made for Simon Says Stamp Challenge - anything goes! I "taught" this card to my stamp club as it was my month. The patterned paper is sparkly and is from SEI. I cut the flowers from my sizzix, using an old pair of jeans from my husband and some felt.  I sprayed the felt with some Mr. Huey Mist to match the card better. The stamp is CTMH, and I colored it with my water color pencils.

Thanks for visiting! I really appreciate it!

Technically Inclined Me

I made this layout for Scrapfit's Workout #56 - Technically Inclined.  It is me with the technological thing that helps me do what I love most--Scrapbooking! And, I'm using it while I'm doing the 2nd thing I love most--travelling!

I hope you have a great weekend!

Thanks for visiting! I really appreciate it!

Christmas Trees Galore

My husband has been busy making Christmas trees on the lathe! Look for some soon in his Etsy shop!  They make a great teacher or friend gift. They look great on your tree, too!

First Day of School - Senior Year

I used a sketch from Artful Delight to create this layout of Mitch leaving the house on his first day of Senior year. Yes, my baby is not only driving himself to school but to senior year! I don't see how that is possible, but that is a story for another day!

Basket Making

I am on the left.

So, I spent the day Sunday making a basket with my twin sister, my mother in law, 2 sisters-in-laws, a niece, an aunt and uncle, and several other people.  The teachers are such a lovely couple.  They have a log cabin on their beautiful place, and they teach the classes there.  Joe also makes gorgeous carvings and also turns on the lathe (Steve and he compare notes from time to time.) Alice also turns pottery. They are so creative and so nice.  Anyway, this year we made a 2 pie basket.  Since I've been married to Steve, I have made 8 baskets.  I think this one is my very favorite!  My colored weavers are dyed from walnut and swamp oak trees. I wanted to go with natural colors this year!  This may be the last year that this couple teaches. I'm so fortunate to have been able to do so many baskets with them!

Merry Christmas - Crafter's Companion Style

I made this little card using Card Patterns Sketch 141 with a Humphrey's Corner Collection - Birthday Girl stamp from Crafter's Companion.  I decided to use her in this Christmas card.  It fits, too! I colored her with some of the Copics my friend Stacy sent me as well as some CTMH watercolor pencils.  I used the CTMH Art Philosopy Cricut Cartridge which I embossed as well as a Jolee's star and some red Colorbok decorations my friend Lural gave me!  I am "teaching" her some things about card making, and she so kindly brought me some embellishments to return the favor. I think I have her addicted to card making now!!!!

Anyway, I am entering the card in Crafter's Companion challenge as well as Simon Says Stamp challenge and Frosted Designs: Fabulous Friday Embossing Challenge.

Thanks for visiting! If you leave me a message, I'll know you stopped by (I'll come see you, too!)!

Happy Halloween - 2011

I made this layout using this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch! The papers are My Mind's Eye. Mitch went trick-or-treating with some Speech and Debate friends. He said he gave his loot to one of the team member's younger brother! That was nice of him! I'm glad he didn't bring candy home! I would have probably eaten it!

New Teleidoscope at my Hubby's Etsy Shop

Wooden Teleidoscope

I just had to share this awesome teleidoscope and really cool stand that my husband just posted on Etsy today!  He posted one earlier in green and red, and it sold within hours! Yay These make a really good Christmas present for someone who has "everything."  It is especially popular with men who have engineering brains but is popular with everyone of all ages!!!!! Check it out!

Thanks for looking!

Family -- at Disney in 2008

I cannot take credit for the design of this fun Family layout which I made for this week's The Paper Variety challenge! I started it at Archiver's (their design) and finished it this morning. I thought it would be fun to put those teeny, tiny photos that the photo print company sends along with your prints into the filmstrip!  I'm glad I had the motivation to finish this up!!! Now, I have more room on my "in progress" shelf!!!

Thanks for visiting! Hope you are having a great weekend!

Early Thanksgiving

We had our first Thanksgiving celebration this weekend at Steve's Aunt Monica's house.  Mitch had to work, but we had fun and had good food anyway! We had family photos taken by a professional photographer this weekend, too.  Then, Steve's Aunt Theresa took some snapshots at Monica's. I've never had my photo taken so many times in one day!

I took the one of Mitch at the Governor's Gardens before the professional got there!

I'm hoping to get to the craft table later this week!

Have a great week!

2nd half of Frenchie's Small Headed Beginnings

Here's the 2nd half of the layout that I posted earlier!  I used the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to make the letters and the spiral for the flower! I distressed both with Ranger's distress inks. I also used a CTMH stamp. Steve picked some dried sedum from our yard to serve as Frenchie's hair!

Thanks for visiting!!!!! Hope you are having a great weekend!

Frenchie and her Small Headed Beginnings

I made this for the Simon Says Stamp Button challenge and for the Smile challenge at The Paper Variety. Why should you smile at this, you say?  Well, look at the bottom left photo. Mitch thought it would be hilarious to make a tiny, little head for Frenchie.  The last photo shows him making it the correct size.  I love the buttons and the snowflake image from CTMH and that paper from DCWV.  The background has hints of text and lots of glitter--just perfect for these photos!!!!  There will be a page 2 of this layout which I may share later...

Christmas tag

I created these tags for my stamp club for our December trade. We decided to do tags this year instead of cards. I was prompted to get them going today by a Hero Arts challenge as well as the Scrapfit #55 challenge to make a Christmas tag or card as well as Really Reasonable Ribbon's Challenge #35 Christmas Theme. I was rather pleased with how these came out. On the back, I have a fun Fiskars stamp that has a " to: and from: " box in a cool shape. Naturally, when I went to photograph these, I forgot to take a photo of the back. I ran some Ranger distress ink along the edges of the cool tag I found on a fun Cricut cartridge I have. I also pop-dotted the small tree and stippled some darker ink over the stamping on it to make it stand out from the other tree. It is amazing how much time making 12 tags took me. I don't even want to admit how long it took!

On a side note: I had to end up taking a high dose (for me) of prednisone along with an antibiotic for my leg surgery--I had what was probably an infection and excess inflammation. They seem to be doing the trick, but I'm praying that I don't gain weight with the prednisone like I usually do! I'm already as big as I've ever been. I'm going to try to keep hitting the gym as much as possible to help prevent it!

Coronado--San Diego Trip

I decided to do another entry for the Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge. They want a lot of entries, so I don't mind sharing!  I used mostly Webster's Pages, but I also added a darling crochet flower which was so kindly given to me by Tracey.  You should check out her blog if you have a chance. She does the most fantastic scrapbook layouts.  I also used a CTMH stamp set.

Old Point Loma Light

Point Loma in the San Diego, California, area is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. And, we've seen a lot of places during our travels throughout the United States over the years! I literally had tears in my eyes when we drove along the road that parallels the ocean at Point Loma. I was happy to do this layout which I am entering in Simon Says ,,,,, Anything Goes :-)!!

Thanks so much for visiting! I'd love it if you stopped to say "hello" in the comments!!!

Christmas 2010 - Stuart and Leo, Teresa Collins Style

I love watching children play, and there is no better time to do it than when they are opening Christmas presents! I snapped these photos of my nephews at our house at Christmas last year.  I thought Teresa Collins' paper worked well for this layout even though it is so formal and vintage.  Did you notice that Leo is laying on a Radio Flyer box?  How much more vintage than that can you get?  Anyway, I made the layout for a Page Maps challenge that I would really love to win! They have a whole bunch of Mr. Huey Mists that they are giving away along with a whole bunch of other goodies!!!

I'm back to scrapping at my regular pace now!! Yay!

Thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate it!

2010 Halloween - ESL Students

So, I made this layout of some of my ESL students. They had been trick-or-treating at my neighbor's house.  They had so much fun!  I made the spiders that are covering their faces at the same friend's house last night! They were so easy to make and so much fun!  I'll give some to my nephews and will probably wear some while handing out treats this year! Some are rings, and some have fairly flat backs, so I can even use them on my scrapbook pages or cards! Yay!  Anyway, I made this for The Paper Variety's challenge  this week!

Thanks for visiting! It makes my day! If you have time, leave me a comment so I know you were here! I haven't been visiting as many people lately since I've been on a little hiatus with my health and being really busy!   I got a good report yesterday on my legs! I was worried about one, but they said that the symptoms were normal and should go away!  I'll try to stop by soon if you leave me a comment!

The Old Point Loma Light

Here's a layout I did today using mostly Webster's Pages. I made it for Scrapfit'sWorkout #53 'The Journaling Goes Round & Round'.  I did my journaling around the two photos!  I cut the letters with my Cricut, added a few Martha Stewart butterflies, part of a ZVA crystals, and some Tattered Angels mist as well as my favorite Fiskar's border punch!

I hope this gets me back into crafting a bit more!!! I certainly have the photos!

Thanks for visiting! It makes my day!

Updates

10/20 UPDATE on Haylee's Treasure:  Steve is going to be making 18 scopes! That's a lot of backers to reward!!!! I can't wait until we get a copy of this book!!!!

P.S. My surgery went really well on my left leg, but my right leg is very bruised and seems to have something not quite right going on. I'm going to the office on Friday for an ultrasound. Hopefully, it is ok... I'm also hoping to craft today!

Haylee's Treasure is Saved!

Help Save Haylee's Treasure

I'm so happy that with less than 15 minutes to spare, Haylee's Treasure is saved and will be published! Steve will be making around 8 kaleidoscopes to be given to some of the backers! I can't wait to see this book in print!!!! :-) Yay!

I'm having surgery tomorrow and possibly again on Friday! It is supposed to be pretty routine with rare complications! Wish me luck! Hopefully, next week I'll be crafting again!!!!

Owl card

Now, isn't this a fun way to use a border? I didn't think of it on my own. A lady from my stamp club had us use this technique Thursday night! All you do is take a 3 inch square and punch each side in the center. Easy to do, easy to mail!!! I am entering it in The Paper Variety's challenge to include a forest friend and Simon Say's Stamp's use sparkle & bling challenge because I added Stickles to it!

Thanks for visiting!!! Have a great day!

Oh, where, oh where did my mojo go?

Oh, where, oh where, did it go?  I did this card using a S.W.A.L.K. Old Friend stamp for my friend Stacy's challenge and for the Crafter's Companion October friendship challenge.  Last month, I won a great prize with a random draw on a  really cute card I made. I'm just out of my mojo right now! I'm hoping to get it back soon! I haven't done anything crafty since 9/28!

Thanks for visiting. I'm hoping to get my mojo back soon!
