Prom

I had a lot of fun making this layout. I wanted to add a little elegance and a lot of playfulness which describes Mitch and his girlfriend Meredith so much.  I embossed a lovely, light blue and white paper with a gorgeous embossing folder and then rubbed a darker ink all over it to bring out the embossing. It is meant to go with the flowers in the gorgeous dress. I also used the yellow background for that purpose. I added the black borders to go with Mitch's suit!! I am entering this in Simon Says Anything Goes challenge--love those!!!!! I am also entering it in my friend Stacy's tic tac toe challenge: mist, alphas and buttons....

How Fast You Grow Charlie!

This is our darling little Charlie.  The pocket in the middle of the 2 photos talks about how fast he grew in about a month.  We got him right before Christmas at just under 4 pounds and is now over 17 pounds!! Wow!  I made the layout using a sketch from PageMaps!  I used mostly Teresa Collins "On the Edge" with the exception of some Tattered Angels mist and the little zig zag border which came from Echo Park and the top part of the pocket which was a little bit of DCWV embossed with a cool chevron pattern which is the opposite of the double folder I got recently with my gift certificate from my cool friend Stacy! (I'm also sharing this layout with one of her challenges at Sketches 4 All/You...)

Thanks for looking!  I hope you are having a great Mother's Day!

Mitch got up very early yesterday to make me a wonderful breakfast since he is going to a Yankees game in Kansas City today. I couldn't say no to that since he rarely gets this kind of opportunity!

You Will Always Be My Little Boy

I made this for the Page Maps Colour Suite Challenge sponsored by Echo Park. I was lucky enough to win All About a Boy from Echo Park during NSD this year.  I used it along with Little Boy and Hello Summer to make the layout! The only things that are not Echo Park are the sun boundary which is from CTMH and the twine. I also embossed the denim looking paper with a new Spellbinders two in one embossing folder.Oh, yeah, and I added a little mist from Tattered Angels.  Mitch is holding a sweet gum. What is funny about it is that he said "Mom, look, a sour gum!"  I thought it was funny anyway!

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Charlie in the Snow

Here is Charlie in the "snow."  Little did we know that we would have several blizzards after that and well into March!  Hopefully, spring will poke its head out soon seeing how today is the first day of APRIL!  Anyway, I made this for Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes. It is my third entry!

Prom 2012 - Take 2

I created this for Scrapfit's challenge #68 to use mist.  Sorry about the blur in the center of the photo--I guess I need to look at my lense.

Thanks for looking!

Dream Big Sweet Boy

I made this from Diana's gorgeous sketch.  I'm also entering it at Simon Says Anything Goes...  I thought it was somewhat fitting that I worked on some baby pictures of our son who just turned 18!!!

circa 1988 or so...

This layout is so much prettier in person. It is one of my favorite layouts to date.  I used a sheet of the most gorgeous Authentique paper (the wood grain and the blue flowered) that I got from The Paper Bakery.  I'm entering at it Simons Says...Anything Goes... I really do wish you could see this in person! Maybe one day I will learn how to take good photos....

Thanks for looking and I hope you are having a great day!!!!!

Mitch and Emily

Here's a sweet photo of Mitch and Emily. They were making Christmas cookies! She had just gotten off from work and was a little sleepy so she was resting her head on Mitch's arm when he leaned over to kiss her forehead! How very sweet! Anyway, I used two different collections of Pink Paislee on this. I also layered the photo with three mats which is rare for me! I rubbed some Distress ink on the photo as well as the mats. I also decided to add a corner punch to the photo to emphasize it a little bit. I sprayed a little bubblegum Tattered Angels on the background paper.  It is one of my favorite layouts that I've done in a while--mainly because of what it represents! The happiness of two of my favorite people!!!

I am entering this into Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Shape it Up! The three small die-cut hearts are my 3 alike shapes! I also used 3 different patterned papers to fit Simon Says Stamp's latest challenge.  Two are in felt.

Thanks for visiting!!!

Sunset at the Beach - San Diego, CA

I'm so excited to have found some time to scrapbook!!!!!  My friend Stacy gave me the Pink Paislee map paper. I've really wanted to dig into it ever since I received it!!! I'm so glad we have the house ready for sale, and we can do some of the things we enjoy doing for a change! I left the part with the United States portion of the map paper visible above the clouds since we were travelling in the states.  I made this layout using a sketch from Artful Delight! I thought the sketch was awesome and used some of the elements as the sun and clouds!  I am also entering this at Scrapfit for challenge #61 to begin with white cardstock!  I sprayed some Tattered Angels (2 colors) and some Mr. Huey Mist on the white background.  Even though this is simple, I think it turned out really well. As usual, it is much prettier in person! I zap-dotted the middle photo to make it stand out more.

Massman Grandkids

Do you Ever Picture Something in Your Mind? And, then you make the layout, and it is NOTHING like you imagined yet you have no idea how to get it there. Well, considering I haven't really scrapped at all this month, I'm just going to run with it! I used Sketchy Thursday's sketch for this week as well as a challenge at Scrapfit to use small photos! At least I did those two things anyway!

Hope you are having a wonderful week and aren't stressing over the holidays!

The Old Point Loma Light

Here's a layout I did today using mostly Webster's Pages. I made it for Scrapfit'sWorkout #53 'The Journaling Goes Round & Round'.  I did my journaling around the two photos!  I cut the letters with my Cricut, added a few Martha Stewart butterflies, part of a ZVA crystals, and some Tattered Angels mist as well as my favorite Fiskar's border punch!

I hope this gets me back into crafting a bit more!!! I certainly have the photos!

Thanks for visiting! It makes my day!

Our Home - in the Blizzard of 2006

9.22 sketch challenge

I made this layout for The Paper Variety's challenge to include the word "home", a embellishment, or a house theme on your paper project.using Sketchy Thursday's latest sketch! I found these photos of our home in a big snow back in 2006 when I was looking through old Christmas cards recently. I thought it was fun that the perfect sketch and challenge came up right after I found them!

My Sister, My Friend

Here is my twin sister in various moods at the Heard Museum in Phoenix earlier this summer.  I was really excited this morning when I found this sketch by Sketchy Thursdays and the combined "friend" challenge at Scrapfit!!!! I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get lucky this week! I play these two challenges all of the time and haven't won a prize on either challenge--now, mind you, I have been very lucky all over blog-land winning prizes, and I am not complaining!  I just love the prizes being offered this time! :-)  My friend Stacy wanted tickets on a layout, too. They represent "ticket to fun" to me.  I've won many of Stacy's challenges, so I play for fun (though I still win a lot) there and hope more of you will play along so she can send prizes out to as many different people as possible!!! She's such a gracious and friendly host!  I did a little spritzing on the layout which is hard to see in the photo but looks pretty good in person!  I'd been hoarding the multi-colored clouds for a while as the company who makes them is no longer in business to my understanding.

Thanks so much for visiting! I won't be posting much in the next few days!!!!

Phoenix Airport

My sister and I had some time to kill at the airport when our trip to Phoenix was over so we decided to head up to the rooftop of the airport terminal.  We had such a great view. We were glad someone told us to go up to take a look. I made this layout with Sketchy Thursday's 9.1 sketch challenge--I flipped it, though! I love that airplane patterned paper from Studio Calico!

Thanks for visiting! Hope you are having a great week!

Cacti in Scallops and a prayer request

Here's another multi-photo, "getter done" layout! It certainly fits Scrapfit's Weekend Warm-Up # 12 to use scallops. I tell you, I printed even more pictures from the Phoenix trip I made with my twin. So, I had to resort to 9 photos on this page! It gives a general idea how many strange, quirky plants were at the Desert Botanical Gardens. My son hates this layout, but I say "it's another one finished." not that it's a chore, but...

Now, I hope you don't mind if I get very personal. I have a niece who has lupus (like me) and is having a hard time of it right now. It is looking like she is having some organ involvement with it--I'm hoping nothing too serious. She is in her first semester of college, too, and she is going to a difficult school. So, if you could add her to your prayer list, I'd sure appreciate it!!!

Ocean Dreams (Coffee Filter flowers) - and I'm FAMOUS

I made this layout for Fiskars and CK challenges. I used a Fiskars scallop punch on a spray misted coffee filter on all three different types of flowers that I made. The top one has a Sizzix flower base, but the rest have 4-6 Fiskars scallops. Gosh, I must have used at least 3 or 4 different mist colors to kind of look like the sand and the ocean. I also cut my coffee filter letters on the Sizzix. It is hard to see, but I also used the Fiskars Washed Ashore border punch on this.

Now, why am I famous, you ask? Well, I was thrilled yesterday to get a surprise package from Fiskars. What did it contain? A new border punch which I helped name! It is called Falling for You. This particular punch is so great–-our family so loves trees and leaves–with the hubby being into wood-turning. I couldn't be more excited!

My Hilarious Nephew

No challenge! Just wanted to share this funny layout!  My nephew saw this elephant at the San Diego Zoo and immediately got a wild look in his eye and got on and rode it for a while.  I don't know what he was thinking!  Maybe he knew he was a little too big for it... maybe he wanted a laugh... I wish I knew. It was so funny. I knew I had a great scrapbook page in the making when I took the photos!

Maramec Spring Park -- Nephews Stuart and Leo

I made this layout of my nephews, Stuart and Leo, at Maramec Spring Park!  I used Sketchy Thursday's 6.16 sketch for this one!  It is funny how ideas about one object are all in the perspective! The boys and their mom and dad looked at this big knot in the tree as a great sitting spot! My husband looks at it and thinks what a beautiful burl bowl it would make!!! In any event, I thought that the photo was so cute that I HAD to scrap it!

My Little Artist

I made this layout of my little artist (about 10 years ago)!!! When he was little, Mitchell loved making art projects!  I used Sketchy Thursday's latest challenge and make it messy for Stacy's challenge, and it fits Scrapfit's Workout #45 (see comment about toilet paper roll)!   I used several different mists as well as some messy Jenni Bowlin yellow paint. I put the yellow paint on an empty toilet paper roll and also used the paint on the "brush".   I totally used some really old stash along with some fun newer things on this layout!!! Can you tell???? The buttons are Jenni Bowlin. I love them. I've been hoarding them.

Thanks for visiting! Hope you are having a great day!
