Prom

I had a lot of fun making this layout. I wanted to add a little elegance and a lot of playfulness which describes Mitch and his girlfriend Meredith so much.  I embossed a lovely, light blue and white paper with a gorgeous embossing folder and then rubbed a darker ink all over it to bring out the embossing. It is meant to go with the flowers in the gorgeous dress. I also used the yellow background for that purpose. I added the black borders to go with Mitch's suit!! I am entering this in Simon Says Anything Goes challenge--love those!!!!! I am also entering it in my friend Stacy's tic tac toe challenge: mist, alphas and buttons....

Octopus vulgaris

I made this layout with the new Graphic 45 collection "By the Sea." Do you think I could have found a better patterned paper for my photos? I think not!!
Anyway, I made this for my friend Stacy's challenge and also for Simon Says Journey challenge. We journeyed to San Francisco....

Thanks for looking!

Easter Eggs

Well, seeing how I have posted for so many days in a row, it seems I am back to scrapbooking in full force!!!  I love this layout and love this collection from Webster's Pages so much.  It is called Girl Land, but you can see that it CAN be adapted to a boys' layout quite easily!!!!  I made it for the Page Maps Challenge and sketch found when you click the link. To me, the prize Webster's Pages is providing is the best of the best:  the new Plum Seeds line. I'd be so happy to win it!!!! Anyway, I digress.  I adapted my layout to 12 x 12.  I thought it would be fun to dig out an old Sizzix bunny die for this cute layout and stamped the chipboard that they are sitting on with a Webster's stamp that matches the collection.  I also gave each bunny a blingy-heart to hold!!!

Have a great day!

Buzzing with Good Wishes

I created this using this fun sketch from Page Maps with the challenge to change the shape! When I saw this sketch, I immediately thought of my CTMH Quick Cards— Bumble Bee stamp and my Spellbinders hexagon shape to make the card! The "buzzing with good wishes" takes place of the little banner/border.  I also embossed the yellow part with a Cuttlebug folder and then inked it up.  I sprayed a little Mr. Huey Mist on the card as well as coloring the bee with some shimmerz powder and then covering the entire bee with liquid glue!  The buttons are from Basic Grey and the charm came from Michael's (don't know the brand). The twine is from The Twinery!

Thanks for looking! I love this card!

You and Me - Senior Photos

I made this for Scrapfit's Sketch Workout #69. Do you think the final layout should have the heart ribbon (#2) or not (#1)?  I'll go with the majority of the crowd!! I also entered this in my friend Stacy's challenge and Simon Says Anything Goes!.

Thanks for visiting! If you leave me a comment, I'll do my best to get around to you! I have been so busy, I'm surprised I found time to scrap!!! :-)

Bookmarks

I was in the mood to make something quick and easy. Luckily, The Paper Variety had a no scrapbook layout or card challenge and Simon Says has an anything goes challenge.  So, I can enter these bookmarks into their challenges.

Thanks for looking!

Dream Big Sweet Boy

I made this from Diana's gorgeous sketch.  I'm also entering it at Simon Says Anything Goes...  I thought it was somewhat fitting that I worked on some baby pictures of our son who just turned 18!!!

Waiting... at the San Diego Zoo - July 2011

It may seem like a stretch, but I used The Paper Variety's sketch this week to make this layout of the boys waiting on the girls at the San Diego Zoo this summer.  I think this is the most loosely I have ever interpreted a sketch before! I twisted and turned some elements but tried to stay true to the design elements!  I am usually so literal that it almost hurts! ha ha  So, imagine how hard it was to change the layout!  Anyway, I enjoyed using some things from my stash. I counted 5 brads and 7 flowers!!!

Thanks for visiting! It really makes my day!

Can't Scrapbook to Save My Life Weekend

So, I decided to make a mini book.  It is called an x-book!  It is an easy book that you make with just one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper and then decorate! The only thing hard about making this book was the Modge Podge.  It wasn't required, but I wanted to give the book some stability!  I had embossed a cool bird and flourish image with a Cuttlebug folder over the sun before attaching it to the cover.  I was also thrilled to be able to get 9 photos on the six "pages." The book is really tiny--about 4 1/4" by 2 1/4".  I decided to use some of the many photos from the Phoenix vacation to fit The Paper Variety's challenge this week!

Love Me Do -- Love Birds Walking on the Beach in California

Here's one of Steve and me walking along the ocean! I used a sketch from Sweet Peach Crop Shop which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it! Everything except the twine, red ink, and adhesive is My Mind's Eye "Love Me Do" collection. You should see the goofy look on my face in the first one!

Cool in the Pool

Ahh, relaxing in the pool in San Diego. What could be better than that? I used Sketchy Thursday's latest challenge to make this for Stacy's make me think of being cool when I see your project.  I'm usually pretty literal when I use a sketch, but I took a little license on this one... I used MyStik adhesive which I really liked and some foam squares, both from 3L. What adhesive is your favorite?  The stamping is from CTMH, but otherwise pretty much everything is from a cute, older collection from My Mind's Eye! Plus, the little holes were punched with an EK Success border punch!  The yellow and blue papers have hearts all over--just loved that...

Apples

We've been so very busy this summer!

I finally got the energy to make a layout. I used this week's Sketchy Thursday's challenge and Stacy's Mix It Up limits (staples, ink, ribbon and flowers)!  You really should try Stacy's challenges over at Sketches 4 All. She is so very generous in spirit and in prizes!! I always enjoy a good sketch and Sketchy Thursdays provides me with some great motivation!

I guess I'm on a Stuart and Leo kick

I made this using a brilliant sketch over at The Sweet Peach Crop Shop.  The photo is so cute, and I thought the sketch went perfectly with it!  The three turtles in a row are a CTMH stamp. I fussy cut them.  Buttons and shaped background are BasicGrey. The other patterned papers are Scenic Route.  The stickers are SRM Stickers.  The green border is a Cricut shape and the border punch is a new one I got from Fiskars! I love it!

I've also entered this in the Moxie Fab World challenge to use borders in an innovative way. I don't know if this is innovative, but I love how the borders work in this layout!

Thanks for visiting!  If you have a moment, please leave a comment so I know you were here! I'll even come visit you!

Have a great day!

Maramec Spring Park -- Nephews Stuart and Leo

I made this layout of my nephews, Stuart and Leo, at Maramec Spring Park!  I used Sketchy Thursday's 6.16 sketch for this one!  It is funny how ideas about one object are all in the perspective! The boys and their mom and dad looked at this big knot in the tree as a great sitting spot! My husband looks at it and thinks what a beautiful burl bowl it would make!!! In any event, I thought that the photo was so cute that I HAD to scrap it!

Plaid paper and branch paper:  unknown

Last Layout from Memphis Trip

Phew! I'm finally finished with our Memphis, TN, trip that we took during 2010 Spring Break!  I forgot to post this last week!

Memphis, Zoo

This is what I do when I have a lot of photos to scrap. I just pile them on and add a couple of accents--in this case a bunch of buttons, flowers and a big dotted brad! That big yellow chipboard flower has Jenni Bowlin paint on it, and it has been stamped with a background stamp from CTMH in an aqua pigment ink from SEI. The paper is Crate Paper.

Thanks for visiting. I won't be posting much in the next few days as my husband (and I) are getting ready for a big art show--Art in the Park in Columbia, Missouri, June 4-5, 2011.  It's a fantastic show. If you are in the area, please stop by and say Hi! :-)

Memphis Zoo-March 2010

I made this layout based on Artful Delight's monthly sketch!  I used Adornit's Misty Collection. I think the papers are so beautiful!  I used CTMH ribbons and snaps.

Canvas Flower

Here is a canvas flower I made with my Sizzix.  I added some ink and Rock Candy Stickles on the large flower and some chalk ink on the smaller flower.  Then, I attached it with an American Crafts brad. I thought it turned out pretty cute for my first one!
