Scrapbooking A Lot These Days

I have been scrapbooking a lot lately. But, I haven't been sharing them here. I am not really sure why--maybe because I'm not entering challenges; maybe because I don't know if anyone is looking, maybe because I'm focusing on putting a lot of photos on my layouts so there isn't much interesting going on; maybe because I clearly don't have my camera setup to take a decent photo.  I don't know.

Today, I decided to make some layouts of some older photos (from 2011). My motivation probably had something to do with all of the snow we have been getting here in the Midwest lately!!!  I don't love getting out in the snow, but the day these photos were taken, we all decided to play in the snow--EVEN ME!!! I was surprised (as you can see by the photos) that they talked me into sledding down that HUGE hill at our old house!!!

I decided to make this layout for my friend Stacy's challenge! She's the best. You should go check out her challenge.

Thanks for looking. If any of you are actually still out there, pop in and say hi!! I'll try to get around to you soon!!!!

White Coat Ceremony

I made this it for Simon Says Emboss it challenge this week! I used the gorgeous My Mind's Eye collection Lost and Found: Oliver that I won from them earlier. That gorgeous hexagon paper is embossed beautifully!  All of the patterned paper is nice and thick and very fun to use!!!  The only other product I used wasAmerican Crafts Thickers and one of my favorite Fiskars border punches!

Thanks for looking! I hope you are having a great weekend!

Smitten

I can't believe how fast the summer has gone by!!!! We just got back a bit ago from Rocky Mountain National Park.  We were very fortunate to see 13 ewes and 5 baby lambs coming down the mountain to obtain their minerals from the mud around Sheep Lake!!!!  I used a beautiful collection from My Mind's Eye that I won from them earlier! I felt so lucky to win it! I am entering this into Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes!  I wasn't able to keep up with my blogs for the two weeks we were gone (one was for Steve's training in Denver) so I was surprised to see they changed sites!!

Anyway, lots more to come!

Thanks for visiting!

NSD - Challenge and Poor Little Charlie

I created this for Basic Grey's NSD challenge to cut around an image in a patterned paper and use it on your layout. I used an old, old, but good, good collection for these photos of my hubby and son playing disc golf. I thought the patterned paper looked a lot like the disc golf nets!!   I have some hidden journaling in a pocket "behind" Steve's photo. I used this awesome sketch by PageMaps for their birthday celebration!

Poor little Charlie just got "snipped yesterday. He is looking "blue" here because I wouldn't let him go downstairs to help me take a photo of this layout!!!

Hope you are having a great day! Thanks for visiting!

St. Lucia

I made this for the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge. I also made it using the sketch at Pamela's World of Scrap.... (Actually, I already made a layout for this month's sketch so I used an older sketch so that I could enter twice.)

Charlie in the Snow

Here is Charlie in the "snow."  Little did we know that we would have several blizzards after that and well into March!  Hopefully, spring will poke its head out soon seeing how today is the first day of APRIL!  Anyway, I made this for Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes. It is my third entry!

Charlie - All Boy

See how the bracketed page is lopsided on this page? That is exactly what this little pup Charlie has done to our lives--made it very lopsided! Isn't he adorable though?  I made this page for Simon Says Stamp challenge to use a splash of color. I chose yellow mainly because of Charlie's pacifier chew toy.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you are having a great day!

P.S. Please pray for us that our old house sells soon or at least has a contract by the middle of February. We've been given a lot of blessings that have made us do ok having two house payments, but we got news that at the end of February our home insurance will be WAY more expensive! Thanks and we appreciate any prayers you could offer!

Hiking to Big Red

I made this layout for The Paper Variety's make your own flower challenge.  I loved this Amy Tangerine American Crafts map sheet. I have had this glass/metal focus on what is in this circle thingy for ages. I thought it would be cool to highlight the area we were travelling on the map.  I made the box fold flower for the challenge.  I was really excited recently to win some MME adventure brads. I hoarded them for a few seconds but decided to use them on this because I just love them SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. I also used a little Mr. Huey Color Mist by dropping it on the page a few places.  Finally, I added these cool little Basic Grey letters. The gray pennant was made with the Chaps line from American Crafts. I thought it was cool that I got 7 photos on this layout even if they were small photos.

As you can see, we took the trip in 2010.  I'm so behind in scrapping...

I hope you have a great day!!!!!

Sunset at the Beach - San Diego, CA

I'm so excited to have found some time to scrapbook!!!!!  My friend Stacy gave me the Pink Paislee map paper. I've really wanted to dig into it ever since I received it!!! I'm so glad we have the house ready for sale, and we can do some of the things we enjoy doing for a change! I left the part with the United States portion of the map paper visible above the clouds since we were travelling in the states.  I made this layout using a sketch from Artful Delight! I thought the sketch was awesome and used some of the elements as the sun and clouds!  I am also entering this at Scrapfit for challenge #61 to begin with white cardstock!  I sprayed some Tattered Angels (2 colors) and some Mr. Huey Mist on the white background.  Even though this is simple, I think it turned out really well. As usual, it is much prettier in person! I zap-dotted the middle photo to make it stand out more.

Love

I made this layout of all of the Massman boys and their wives! We had these fun photos taken when we had some group family photos taken in November.  I made it using Sketchy Thursday's LAST sketch. Boo hoo! I love their sketches! Anyway, I finished it this evening just in time to enter into The Paper Variety's challenge to use black/white and a kiss of color.  The sketch and prompt seemed to go perfectly with the photos!!!! Don't you agree?

Happy Halloween - 2011

I made this layout using this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch! The papers are My Mind's Eye. Mitch went trick-or-treating with some Speech and Debate friends. He said he gave his loot to one of the team member's younger brother! That was nice of him! I'm glad he didn't bring candy home! I would have probably eaten it!

1997 Halloween

I made this Fall layout using a sketch at Artful Delight to celebrate Leanne's birthday!   I also used a book page which I sprayed with Mr. Huey Mist and some Webbing to meet a challenge over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop!  I did quite a bit of tearing and distressing and embossed the photo mat on this to give it a little texture!  My little sweetheart was 3 when he went trick-or-treating as Elmo in 1997.  It's hard to believe he is a senior in high school this year!!!  Most of this is My Mind's Eye except for the fussy cut leaves which are CTMH.  By the way, did you notice the Fiskars leaf border punch at the bottom of the black paper?  I helped name it "Falling for You." :-)

Thanks for visiting. I'm posting a couple of things today!

10 Reasons that Mitchell Makes me Happy

I made this layout using numbers for Scrapbook Circle's and Sweet Peach Crop Shop's number challenges using a sketch I found at My Scraps and More!  It is now hanging on my refrigerator to let my teenager know that I do love him and see the good things about him even though I have "rules" and seem to get on his case from time to time!  I have quite the hodge podge of manufacturer's on this page including American Crafts, Autumn Leaves, Basic Grey, Collage Press, Kaiser, My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon and more!

Thanks for visiting! It makes my day!  Hope you are having a great day!

Early 1970s - What a Hoot! and some really cute buttons

I found this cute sketch at My Scraps and More and thought of this old photo of my twin sister, little (now 6' 3") brother and me.  I kind of added some pinks and blues and some very masculine elements along with some very feminine ones. Simple, but I like it...

Also, I was thrilled when Ursula Luserke custom made these darling buttons and sent them to me from Germany! She has quite the knack for making these!
