My Twin Sister and Her Family's Pets

Since we can't have any more pets due to allergies (I can't even have a Bichon Frise), the boys really enjoyed playing with SOME of Karen's families pets:  their two little yellow and white kittens and their chocolate lab mix puppy (who is a LOT bigger now).  They also have a gray and black tabby, a bird and a rooster.  I believe they've added some baby chicks now.  I made this layout for the Practical Scrappers challenge this week to use border punches or deco scissors.  I made the blocks for the title and date with my deckle edge deco scissors.  For some reason, I had it in my head that the challenge wanted any type of punches so I used my square punch and my medium scallop punch to make blocks for my very old Debbie Mumm stash of doggie and kitten stickers! Oh, well! My memory isn't what it used to be! It works!

My Nieces in 2002

Here is a simple layout of my nieces on my husband's side of the family.  I made my own shimmery mist and used every kind of pink imaginable! I only have one boy so it's fun to get out the pink every once in a while.

1999 Steve's first trip to the Ocean

I created this layout using Splash Dance from Imaginisce.  I won it on their blog! I was so excited to get it that I whipped out a layout as soon as I opened the box.  It helped that I had a color scheme in mind from Frosted Designs (orange, yellow, turquoise, and green) and a sketch in hand from Pages in Time.

2010 Memphis-Animals at the Zoo

I created this for Sketches in Thyme Challenge 3.  It also fit Scrapfit's challenge to include your peeps.
I tried an inverted scallop border that I saw Gerry give a tutorial on here.
I usually have to have people in my sketch, but I thought these pictures of the animals turned out so well that I went ahead and printed them!  You should have seen the animals with those eggs that the zoo crew had painted for Easter.  The "deer" were quite afraid of them and approached them very cautiously.  After the deer figured out that they were "safe," the ostrich came over and gave them a sniff. It was hilarious to watch.

UPDATED:  7/1  I made top 3 for this layout at Sketches in Thyme. I was thrilled!

2010 Memphis Zoo

Here is my first entry to Practical Scrappers. I really liked the Friday sketch this week!  You may not be able to see it, but I used a Cuttlebug folder on the corners of my background. It add a little extra to the LO in real life. The LO is also not crooked in real life.  I also inked the edges of the patterned papers in Autumn Terracotta from CTMH to unify them.

Mom and Dad--So Thankful for You and Pay it Forward

I used Bo Bunny on this simple layout.  It uses yellow but I don't want to be too greedy and enter it as a 3rd entry for Natalie's challenge to use yellow as a focal feature!

On another note:  Kimmy sent me a wonderful box of goodies as a pay it forward!  The stipulation for playing is that you must send a pay it forward to 5 other people through your blog or FB!  I am paying it forward to the following ladies (who I have already contacted).  All of them have supported my work through my blog or FB.

1969 Twins

A cute little 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" LO of my twin sister and me! I am on the left! We were 4 1/2 in 1969.  The blue background is Marcella by K.  The flowers, circle paper and journaling spot are Making Memories.  The little scallop is hand cut from Glitz Designs.  The little pearls are from Mark Richards.  The green crochet flower was made by my blog friend, Jessica.  She sent it to me all the way from Australia.  Isn't it cute!?  She is now selling the little flowers on Etsy! I love Etsy but wish people could find artists' work easier.  As many of you know, my husband is an Etsy artist. So, I'm also letting you know her shop name (she said it was ok):  http://www.etsy.com/shop/jessicatheodore.

Poppy and Steven Playing Guitars

I created this layout for Sketch 201 at Scrapbook Challenges.  I used Nikki Sivils Dan the Record Man collection.  I just love Nikki's unique style! I used my new Fiskars Upper Crest border punch on this one! Thanks Steve for my fun birthday present!

I'm back from Vacation

Can you guess where we went?

EDITED:  We are at Saugatuck Dunes State Park  on beautiful Lake Michigan on the Michigan side!!  We had to walk a little bit to get there, and we had the beach to ourselves for a while before anyone else made it down that morning!!!

Not producing much- travelling

I won't be able to make any new projects until at least Friday! Here is a cute little scrapbook in a purse. You make the main scrapbook/purse out of one piece of 12 x 12 cardstock! It's kind of fun and cute!

Outtakes from Prom - rustic

I'm entering this in Scrapfit challenge 21.  It said to use a machine, and punches count!  I used Bo Bunny's Mamarazzi on this one. The coloring in the photo seems a little off-what looks like gray is actually a really pretty, light-blue!  I hand-made the black rose out of some Glitz Designs Paper.  The jewels are from Pebbles--very glittery.  I used a Fiskars punch on the Glitz Designs paper for a border on the pictures of Mitch and Haley together.  Finally, I used some CTMH stamps to add a few fun words/phrases and a little border of Haley peeking out of the crack in the barn "wall".   In case you are wondering, my layouts are pretty simple because for me it's all about the pictures! I love having some fun papers and some cute embellies, but the pictures rule! Don't get me wrong, I love other people's work who use a lot more stuff!! I just have a simple style for my own scrapbooking!!

You Rock (in Yellow)

I created this for Natalie's challenge to use yellow as a focal feature! I'm always up for a challenge. Click on her name to see the challenge.

Also, here is a sneak of a Spring mini album I have finally started. The kit was the first prize I ever won as a scrapbook blogger. I'll tell you more about it when I post the final--and where I got it! She has a great shop... Stay tuned!

Little treat bag!

This is a fun little bag that you can make out of an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of patterned paper!  Here are some easy instructions for it: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/2_5_7_10_box/.  They call it a box, but I think of it more as a bag!

Cute little boy card - flying high

I'm entering this in the Moxie Fab challenge to use fabric! Felt is fabric, so... :-)

P.S. There is liquid glass on the plane! I tied the ribbon in a unique way--I thought it looked a little like a jet!
