Technically Inclined Me
I hope you have a great weekend!
Thanks for visiting! I really appreciate it!
Christmas Trees Galore
My husband has been busy making Christmas trees on the lathe! Look for some soon in his Etsy shop! They make a great teacher or friend gift. They look great on your tree, too!

First Day of School - Senior Year
I used a sketch from Artful Delight to create this layout of Mitch leaving the house on his first day of Senior year. Yes, my baby is not only driving himself to school but to senior year! I don't see how that is possible, but that is a story for another day!

Basket Making
I am on the left.
So, I spent the day Sunday making a basket with my twin sister, my mother in law, 2 sisters-in-laws, a niece, an aunt and uncle, and several other people. The teachers are such a lovely couple. They have a log cabin on their beautiful place, and they teach the classes there. Joe also makes gorgeous carvings and also turns on the lathe (Steve and he compare notes from time to time.) Alice also turns pottery. They are so creative and so nice. Anyway, this year we made a 2 pie basket. Since I've been married to Steve, I have made 8 baskets. I think this one is my very favorite! My colored weavers are dyed from walnut and swamp oak trees. I wanted to go with natural colors this year! This may be the last year that this couple teaches. I'm so fortunate to have been able to do so many baskets with them!

Merry Christmas - Crafter's Companion Style
I made this little card using Card Patterns Sketch 141 with a Humphrey's Corner Collection - Birthday Girl stamp from Crafter's Companion. I decided to use her in this Christmas card. It fits, too! I colored her with some of the Copics my friend Stacy sent me as well as some CTMH watercolor pencils. I used the CTMH Art Philosopy Cricut Cartridge which I embossed as well as a Jolee's star and some red Colorbok decorations my friend Lural gave me! I am "teaching" her some things about card making, and she so kindly brought me some embellishments to return the favor. I think I have her addicted to card making now!!!!
Anyway, I am entering the card in Crafter's Companion challenge as well as Simon Says Stamp challenge and Frosted Designs: Fabulous Friday Embossing Challenge.
Thanks for visiting! If you leave me a message, I'll know you stopped by (I'll come see you, too!)!

Happy Halloween - 2011
I made this layout using this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch! The papers are My Mind's Eye. Mitch went trick-or-treating with some Speech and Debate friends. He said he gave his loot to one of the team member's younger brother! That was nice of him! I'm glad he didn't bring candy home! I would have probably eaten it!

Family -- at Disney in 2008
I cannot take credit for the design of this fun Family layout which I made for this week's The Paper Variety challenge! I started it at Archiver's (their design) and finished it this morning. I thought it would be fun to put those teeny, tiny photos that the photo print company sends along with your prints into the filmstrip! I'm glad I had the motivation to finish this up!!! Now, I have more room on my "in progress" shelf!!!
Thanks for visiting! Hope you are having a great weekend!

Early Thanksgiving
We had our first Thanksgiving celebration this weekend at Steve's Aunt Monica's house. Mitch had to work, but we had fun and had good food anyway! We had family photos taken by a professional photographer this weekend, too. Then, Steve's Aunt Theresa took some snapshots at Monica's. I've never had my photo taken so many times in one day!
I took the one of Mitch at the Governor's Gardens before the professional got there!
I'm hoping to get to the craft table later this week!
Have a great week!

2nd half of Frenchie's Small Headed Beginnings
Here's the 2nd half of the layout that I posted earlier! I used the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to make the letters and the spiral for the flower! I distressed both with Ranger's distress inks. I also used a CTMH stamp. Steve picked some dried sedum from our yard to serve as Frenchie's hair!
Thanks for visiting!!!!! Hope you are having a great weekend!

Frenchie and her Small Headed Beginnings
I made this for the Simon Says Stamp Button challenge and for the Smile challenge at The Paper Variety. Why should you smile at this, you say? Well, look at the bottom left photo. Mitch thought it would be hilarious to make a tiny, little head for Frenchie. The last photo shows him making it the correct size. I love the buttons and the snowflake image from CTMH and that paper from DCWV. The background has hints of text and lots of glitter--just perfect for these photos!!!! There will be a page 2 of this layout which I may share later...

Christmas tag
I created these tags for my stamp club for our December trade. We decided to do tags this year instead of cards. I was prompted to get them going today by a Hero Arts challenge as well as the Scrapfit #55 challenge to make a Christmas tag or card as well as Really Reasonable Ribbon's Challenge #35 Christmas Theme. I was rather pleased with how these came out. On the back, I have a fun Fiskars stamp that has a " to: and from: " box in a cool shape. Naturally, when I went to photograph these, I forgot to take a photo of the back. I ran some Ranger distress ink along the edges of the cool tag I found on a fun Cricut cartridge I have. I also pop-dotted the small tree and stippled some darker ink over the stamping on it to make it stand out from the other tree. It is amazing how much time making 12 tags took me. I don't even want to admit how long it took!
On a side note: I had to end up taking a high dose (for me) of prednisone along with an antibiotic for my leg surgery--I had what was probably an infection and excess inflammation. They seem to be doing the trick, but I'm praying that I don't gain weight with the prednisone like I usually do! I'm already as big as I've ever been. I'm going to try to keep hitting the gym as much as possible to help prevent it!

Coronado--San Diego Trip
I decided to do another entry for the Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge. They want a lot of entries, so I don't mind sharing! I used mostly Webster's Pages, but I also added a darling crochet flower which was so kindly given to me by Tracey. You should check out her blog if you have a chance. She does the most fantastic scrapbook layouts. I also used a CTMH stamp set.
Thanks for visiting!
